I will be arriving there in the evening on that day and staying at my grandma's house until the next day where I am to be at St. Michael's Abbey at 4 p.m. Postualancy begins the next day on the Feast of St. Augustine (August 28th).

I am sorry to inform you that I was wrong on some information I have told some of you. For those who persevere past postulancy and recieve the habit and a change of name (on Christmas Eve) - this is not open to the public. Then the Spouse will look upon the neck of the bride and thereby be captivated, and will be wounded by one of her eyes, that is, by the purity of intention she has in all she does. If in combing hair one wants it to have luster, one begins from the crown. All our works must begin from the crown (the love of God) if we wish them to be pure and lustrous.

Love consists not in feeling great things but in having great detachment and in suffering for the Beloved.

Not all the faculties and sense have to be employed in things, but only those which are required; as for the others leave them unoccupied for God.

Oh, how sweet Your presence will be to me, You Who are the supreme good! I noticed that since I was going to have to cut down some trees I would ask the Most Holy (tree-nity) Trinity to watch OVER me (like the trees that are over me) and make sure I don't get hit with something that has a bark worse than its bite. However, St. Francis De Sales really is the master of virtues and really relates them to nature in an exquisite way. I've read it twice, but I think I might have to pick it up again. It always amazes me how the Saints are able to look at nature and be in deep contemplation, because they see the work of the creator and ponder on how or what this reveals about God, heaven, or other holy thoughts. Gerard Manley Hopkins, although he is not a declaired saint by Holy Mother Church, really wrote up some nice work on nature and relates it to God so beautifuly.

In any case, today was the 26th wedding anniversary of my parents. The kids and I fried halibit, potatoes, and zucchini, and served up some broccoli with cheese for dinner. Although the dinner was a bit heavy on the greesey side because most of the food was fried it was some of the best fried food any of us had ever eaten. We have our own mini frier, which works great. When I was cooking with it I thought, "hey, wow, look we can hire a friar to work the frier" - badoooom psh! I also put on my suit and tie and put a little white towl around my arm and acted as waiter for my parents while they ate. I tried my best French accent while speaking English to make zzz mood how you say more magnific, no? Then after dinner settled in our stomachs I made a last minute card online and printed it out for Mom and Dad and had all the kids sign it just in time - phew. All in all I was very blessed, not only because I almost lost my eye at work today a couple of times (silly branches), but most of all because I have two loving parents who have given so much of themselves and have kept true to their commitment of marriage vows. It's so wonderful to see the grace of God working in their marriage, for what God has bound let no man seperate.

Goaaaaaaaal!

Sunday the 30th I scored two goals in my soccer game. However, these two goals were to one: try to win and two: have fun (i'm very competitive). Actually, I scored two goals on my own net to be honest about it all. I could try and explain how it wasn't my fault, but it just sounds funny when I say I scored on my own net - TWICE. I always get a KICK out of playing soccer. I think to myself, "man... I am having such a BALL I will play again next week." While I am playing I ask the PAIR-A-CLEAT (like the Holy Spirit - the Paraclete) to descend upon us to help us in our game to be good Christians towards other players. I need to practice every week so I can get a good FIELD for the game. And if you are reading this then you are just like our goalie who surfs the NET.

Ok that's enough PUNishment for now. Take care and God bless! From July 19th till the 22nd I had a friend from the Seminary (Pablo) visit my house. On the 22nd it was a very busy day. We woke up at 7am and left the house at 8:30 to go Kayaking with the family (minus my sister Janell who was at a friends birthday party) and we got to Bowmans bay at around 8:45 (i think). It wasn't until 10:30 that we were able to get the boats out in the water because we were trying to figure out which boat would best suit pablo. After giving him my mom's boat (which is made in Canada - ironic I know!) we headed out for what was supposed to be a peaceful and enjoyable experiance for our friend who had been kayaking before, but still had little experiance.

After trying to go out to what we called "brocolii" island (because of all the trees on it) we decided to have my mom take a picture of Pablo and I about 2/3rds of the way there. After my mom put away her camera we realized she was about 10 times the distance behind us that she was when she took the picture and we hadn't been paddaling much. On a side note this particular day there was a 10 foot difference in the low-tide (it was low tide when we went out). The current was pushing rather swift toward's Deception Pass bridge (by Oak Harbor). The current that was going under that bridge was sucking my mom out toward it. Jared yelled to her letting her know that she was getting sucked out. I turned my boat around to hang out next to my mom so that we would not lose her. Then we realized that if Pablo, Jared (my brother), and I wanted to arrive to the wedding at 2pm that we were supposed to serve at we should go since it was nearly noon. After trying to paddle to go back in we realized that after 15 minutes of paddeling fairly hard that we had not moved forward any and were actually starting to move backwards. My Dad started to panic and told me to tow my brother Justin (who is 10 years old). I hooked up to Justin and started to tow him but my mom was still not making any head way. Jared made it out and headed back toward the cove. My Dad and Pablo were next to each other and looked like they would be fine. Dad made it back to the cove but Pablo was not in the clear yet. My mom was still not going any where and she told me to go ahead. I didn't want to go because I knew we had to stick together if we wanted to get through this.

Despite all our paddeling we were not able to make any progress. My mom decided that we should go across the current to the other side where West Beach is and then we could radio to my dad to come pick us up. We made it to the beach very relived that we were out of the current. However, looking back we saw that Pablo was stilly paddling against the current. Then the worst happened. He gave up because he was so tired from paddling. The current took him from the point of the rock all the way to the bridge in less than a minute. I would dare to say that it was about a 100 yards. He was yelling and waving his hands so much for boats to come to rescue him. Three boats passed him and didn't help. They figured he was saying hello to him because they started to wave back. Then THANKS BE TO GOD a boat turned around and picked him up. When he went to get into their dingy on the back of their boat he fell over because the paddle sliped out of his hand and upon trying to grab it he fell over. However, he was able to snatch the paddle and hold on to the boat. They picked him up and got him in the boat.

The whole time that the rescue was taking place my mom and my brother Justin were praying on shore. My mom started to get emotional because she thought that he wouldn't make it.

Finally, after Pablo got back to the cove from his guardian angels he got in the car with my dad and Jared and crossed the bridge to help my mom and I carry the kayaks back to the car. Pablo said that the boat driver that saved him guessed that the water that was going under the bridge was going 11 knots!!!

Thanks be to God for bringing my friend home safely and yes we made it just in time for the Wedding and it was VERY beautiful!

Until next time... I decided Hmm today is the day that I will clean my room because it is starting to get out of hand. Fortunatly, my sister had tons of energy from being cooped up inside all day and I jokingly said, 'well you can clean my room' and she said, "O.K!". So she cleaned my room. Thus, my goal was accomplished today by my sister. The End.

I was going to go to soccer today too, but my blisters from last weekend's soccer game are still there and my new cleats today arrived in the mail so I will have to break in these as well. You see last weekend I decied at the last minute to sign up for the men's soccer league that my brother is playing on because I thought they might need another player (and soccer is fun anyway too). It just so happens that my brother bought new cleats that day, my sister bought new shorts and shinguards. I was not orignally planning on playing but since that equipment was there and I thought it would be fun I decied to play. Since my brother's cleats were new I got to break them in and they broke in my new blisters. Yes, it was "blistering" hot out that day too, but I had lots of water to drink, so my jokes that day were all wet.

Moving right along...

Firday I will go to see the new Pirates movie although I hope it's not rated RRRRRRR because that's the pirates favorite letter in the alphabet. Then on Saturday I'm going Kayaking with my family hopefully and then on Sunday after Mass I would presume, I am going to play soccer in Mount Vernon I think. Then later on that evening I'm going to Canada eh. I will spend 4 days there and then my friend Pablo will come and visit my place for about 4 days as well. Should be fun... until next time... cya bloggers!

Hmmm....

Underconstuction... until then I leave you with this note:

Why was the chimney ill?

It caught flue

(NOTE: flu = a viral cold /a flue = a chimney)

:)
